SHAREit sets its eyes on Middle East, crosses over 70 million monthly active users in the region
Growth of Digital Entertainment platforms
SHAREit, a gaming and video discovery and sharing platform has observed a growth rate of 20% during the COVID-19 lockdown in the Middle East. The application has managed to cross the 70 million monthly active users mark in the region. With a user base of over 1.8 billion users speaking 45 languages in about 200 countries, SHAREit's rise can be attributed to the platform's unique transformation into a complete digital entertainment provider and its wide range of offerings. After achieving numerous milestones in the Asia-Pacific market, SHAREit is now all set to make its mark in the Middle East.
As the technology and the general appetite for entertainment grows, the world of digital would continue to rise exponentially.
Mobile internet usage in the Middle-East poses a huge opportunity for SHAREit. Recent reports[1] suggest that mobile internet is estimated to account for 49.5% of total internet traffic in the region by 2021 as compared to 25.2% in 2016. Additionally, mobile internet subscription is expected to double to 1.63 billion in the same period. SHAREit's 20% growth rate in the region during the COVID-19 lockdown period is a testament to the opportunity and SHAREit's product capabilities. SHAREit was able to grow its monthly active users to 72 million in the market and become the 4th and 9th most downloaded application in Egypt and UAE respectively[2].
“At SHAREit our three core propositions are increasing brand awareness & reach, ensuring downloads and retargeting and re-engagement for our clientele. The Middle-East has been displaying exceptional growth in the mobile internet market in recent years. Considering the spike in digital entertainment and mobile gaming, owing to the ongoing pandemic, the development and growth opportunity for mobile applications is immense. With this move we will aim to continue the growth that we have observed in other regions and achieve even greater heights in the Middle East. We would also aim to provide unique brand solutions to ensure satisfaction for all stakeholders”, said Karam Malhotra, Partner & Global VP, SHAREit, commenting on the expansion plans.
SHAREit's uniqueness lies in its one of a kind product offering and its success with marketers. It not only provides short format content but also a wide array of games in the application. Along with all that SHAREit works seamlessly online and offline while providing marketers with a significant incremental audience. Additionally, SHAREit is the first ecosystem to partner with Google Play to verify, authenticate and attribute each peer 2 peer app to support stable partnerships with its clients.
